Resolutions Part 9: No More Binging...

I've decided to do a 12 step program this year. Each month, make a new lifestyle change until it all adds up at the end of the year. The key to success is to start small and have a plan. Follow along with me and make your life better! Or at least, more interesting.

Resolution 1: Eat Healthier
Resolution 2: GO TO SLEEP!
Resolution 3: Count Money!
Resolution 4: 59 Seconds

Resolution 11: Promote my Dumbass Site!

OK I didn't post one for last month, but I DID start doing something, however that thing's success may or may not depend on secrecy. Yeah I know it's a cop out but something will come out of this experiment too! Something funny.

GOAL 9: No More Binging

This is a big one for me. In the last couple years, I've always been binge-eating. Not necessarily on bad things and not necessarily in a way that is too unhealthy ( lol yeah right) but still enough that it stiffles my fitness / health goals and it also just sickens me sometimes. Though mostly, I celebrate it:



For the record, we did beat that number later on! Binging is my alcoolism. I will go an entire day without eating just so I can eat a ridiculous amount of food and this summer I biked over 7000km and after some of those long days I would just not give a fuck and I'd eat pounds of food. This clip describes pretty well what my current realtionship is with food:



I eat UNTIL IT HURTS. That's what I like. I eat until I'm heavy, fat and feeling sick. I have a Thanksgiving dinner like twice a week. If you give me a plate of food, I will eat it. I managed to get POTASSIUM POISONING from eating too many banana chips. Do you know what kind of retard it takes to eat like 2 pounds of dried bananas? I'll eat an entire block of cheese or a box of crackers. I've eaten pounds of fruits and meats and candy before. Last year, my Halloween was just me and a 2 pound bag of candy. I ate it all in one sitting.

Binging is a joy and a curse for me. It's really hard to control and I'm going to try and we'll see what happens!

But what's considered binging?

Good question... Dictionary.com offers this definition:

Binge
a. A period of unrestrained, immoderate self-indulgence.


Well that's pretty accurate! Obviously I still have to eat. Here are some rules I think are fair:

RULES:

- I cannot starve myself. I must eat breakfast and I must eat at least 4 times a day.
- No more "All You Can Eat restaurants" or food eating contests ( those contests mostly involved myself...)
- I shall only order one dish when eating out. No entrees or desserts.
- I cannot eat more than 1 pound of food per hour.
- Meals have to be under 1000 calories.

These all sound like easy tasks but wow, 1000 calories is not a lot for me. Take a look at this list of things you can order in typical US restaurants. Half the list is over 1000 calories and the other half are basically single sandwiches! A typical restaurant meal is probably around 1500 calories. Now in Canada we usually don't have access to the caloric content of our foods like many places do in DA STATES so I'll have to make educated guesses...

Well this is going to suck and I'm going to start right now with one exception: To celebrate the end of cycling season we shall go to one last buffet and eat. EAT AS IF OUR LIVES DEPENDED ON EATING.... ... yeah..
