Touring Canada Week 13 - Hanging Out

Shortest week yet in terms of time since I started this trip. More mechanical problems and broken things and just taking it more easy, hanging out with friends in the region. Not many pictures because I don’t want to be annoying and stop every 20 minutes when other people are with me.

Nothing much, just an easy day on the small ring while a replacement chainring was being shipped to the bike shop. Got caught in this gross rain literally 2 minutes after starting…

Riding around with local legend Mat Wilson once again, zooming around the CGV at 45kph for an hour or so. That’s the Montreal cycling experience now. He could charge money honestly. Go follow Mat and get your PR around the F1 track.

Picked up my bike that morning hoping to do a nice long relaxing tourist ride in the city but about 10km in my front derailleur snapped off the frame… Back to the damn bike shop we go for an emergency fix…

Nordet is a popular segment in the Gatineau-Montreal region, mainly because it has lots of elevation and the roads aren’t blasted to hell. It’s just an out and back with nothing much to see though.

Nothing fancy, had just made it to Gatineau since Pierre kindly invited me for diner! We rode easy in the park.

A pretty beefy interval training ride in the park with Pierre. He’s racing M1 this year. The reward is food and pain.

Almost done with the socializing and time to zoom back home. 3/4 of the way done with this ““““vacation””””. Really was nice to sleep in some beds for a change. Thank you for everyone who hung out with me!
